In a strategic move into new markets and as a means of expanding their digital capability, Paramount Labels invested in a Dantex PicoColour UV inkjet digtal label press. With a printing width of 210mm and a running capacity of 35m per minute, the PicoColour is a versatile and highly productive printing system that is offered at a competitive price.
Established in 2008, and originally as a flexo printer, UK-based Paramount Labels has become a recognised name in flexo and digital-label printing for a range of customers, from emerging brands to multinationals.
Over the years, Paramount has seen its business grow and enter new markets, especially digital printing. As a result of increased growth and expansion, the company moved to larger premises and continues to invest in infrastructure to progress further.
With increased customer demand for digitally printed labels, Paramount needed an enhanced digital-label press that could meet this growing demand and offer a more profitable solution. For a number of years, it had used small, desktop digital printers principally to test the market. With comprehensive research into a range of entry-level digital presses, and following an on-stand visit to Dantex at Packaging Innovations, the clear choice was the versatile PicoColour UV inkjet digital press, which offers superb printed results. The model Paramount uses is the CMYK plus white option.
"Digital printing is the way forward, and we always felt the PicoColour was the way to go; it's the best machine in the market at this price," says Phil Wright, managing director of Paramount Labels. "The quality is exceptional and it's fantastic to be able to push the boundaries of the machine through changes in artwork to create new finishes. It has opened new doors and enabled us to go into new markets, some of which start with digital and then feed our flexo work. The Dantex team is superb, and the remote diagnostics mean that any issues that occur can be quickly resolved. We could not have made a better choice and look forward to adding to the digital offering in the future."
