As customers embrace our IML tubes, they discover the advantages of the more rigid and high end feel of PP IML tubes. Bouncing back to their original shape rather than wrinkling or deforming, gives them a higher perceived value and the packaging looks untouched during the entire tubes' life cycle.
IML's are printed on a flat surface, enabling us to print almost any type of graphic on our state of the art printing press. It can print flexo, offset, silk screen, cold foil -- you name it! This is a hybrid printing press so you can combine these options and achieve the most striking graphics on the in-mold label. We go even further by ensuring the tube is resistant and graphics remain as new during its entire life cycle. When you print very elaborate graphics onto an IML it is important to protect this artwork, because your tube is going to be filled and then pass through a distribution process and may even end up in a purse or handbag.
Traditionally, tubes are manufactured with the tube sleeve and shoulder produced separately and then welded together and the cap is usually sourced externally.
With our IML technology sleeve, shoulder and the decoration are created in one manufacturing step (by injection molding with IML), and we manufacture all components in house. Every component is molded, printed and assembled in the same plant and we control the supply chain of the caps which has a big impact on our throughput times.
Life-cycle analysis (LCA) of the Viva Tube, taking into account resin sourcing, the amount of energy spent to produce a tube, all the way through to the finished tube shows that the Viva injection molded tube with in-mold label on average saves up to 35% energy in production compared to any other technology.

The tube is made from one single resin -Polypropylene No 5- which means at the end of its life cycle it can be recycled without having to separate tube and cap. A traditional tube is made from different materials. The cap, tube, shoulder are made from different resins with the label from still another material, and it is often nearly impossible to separate from the tube for recycling.
We can go even one step further and use a high degree of PCR (post-consumer recycled) material for the tube sleeve and up to 100 % for the caps used on our tubes. The disadvantages of PCR material (discoloration, only available in darker colors) are neutralized by the use of IML labels covering the entire tube body with decoration.
