Esko has bolstered its range of CDI flexo plate imaging systems with the launch of the CDI Spark 2420, designed for narrow-web label converters.
The machine, which is capable of imaging plate sizes up to 609mm x 508mm, can handle a range of plate materials that include digital flexo plates, chemistry-free film and digital foil-based letterpress plates.
The CDI Spark 2420 is available in a range of configurations that include the standard 2,000ppi to 2,540ppi iterations as well as the ability to upgrade to a hi-res version from 2,540ppi to 4,000ppi.
The customer can also opt for the HD Flexo 4,000ppi configuration in combination with high-definition screening.
According to Jan Buchweitz, Esko senior product manager of digital flexo, the CDI Spark 2420 "fits neatly" into the company's portfolio, which already includes the CDI Sparks 1712, 2120 and 2530.
He said: "It provides a more cost-effective solution that better fits plates for those customers who would previously have considered the larger CDI 2530 as the most suitable option.
"It demonstrates Esko's commitment to listen to our customers and to provide solutions that best meet their needs."
